The year 1961 was the Minnesota Twins first year in the Twin Cities playing Baseball at the Old Met Stadium in Bloomington Minnesota.
Peters Meats was a Twin City Company who issued a series of 26 different Minnesota Twins players on the back of their Hot Dog packages in the the summer of 1961. Of course, it was a great way to introduce the 1961 Twins team to the people of Minnesota and especially a big hit with young baseball card collectors. However, over the past 60 years, very few original 1961 Peter Meats cards have survived to be included in card collectors collections across the nation.
This 2020 collector issued 1961 Peters Meats Twins card measures 2.5 by 3.5 inches. The original Peters Meats Twins card were larger in size and thus harder to collect and display in card albums.
